Liaoning International Cooperation Group's Technical Achievement in China in the Past Thirty Years

In the tropical rainforest climate zone of Western Africa, the Rice Panicles of farms in the Gegdu reclamation area are even and strong, and the leaves are green and stretching. "Agricultural technology in China" is changing the original planting methods and agricultural features, "Gegdu" has become the pronoun of excellent rice seeds and agricultural modernization in Czechoslovakia, representing the advanced agricultural level of Czechoslovakia as "the land of rice".

I. Gegedu Reclamation Area in Tropical Rainforest

The project of farmland water conservancy and agricultural technical cooperation in Kogegdu reclamation area is the first economic and technical cooperation project between the two governments since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1983, and the only project combining agricultural facilities and technical cooperation so far. The project is located in the primitive jungle of the upper and middle reaches of the Gohe River. The 500 hectares of reclaimed land are divided into three irrigation areas, which are allocated to nearly 1,000 farmers and directly resettle thousands of migrant workers. Liaoning International Economic and Technical Cooperation Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Liaoning International Cooperation Group") has been carrying out various assistance work for nearly 30 years since 1989. It has achieved fruitful results in the construction and maintenance of water conservancy projects, rice seed development and extension, rice cultivation and the teaching of agricultural machinery operation technology. Lihe has led to a relatively complete rice industry system in the region.

Over the years, Liaoning International Cooperation Group's Aid Science Project Team has been stationed at the forefront of the work in Gegedu Reclamation Area, carrying out rice cultivation exploration with domestic experts and local people. In terms of improving planting conditions, in view of the serious acidification of some soils in Czechoslovakia and the prominent problem of water accumulation in some low-lying areas in rainy season, the project team has improved acidic soils to adapt them to the growth of rice, at the same time regularly maintained and cleaned the main drainage canals and branch canals to ensure the smooth drainage and irrigation of farmland in reclamation areas; in terms of selecting rice varieties, according to the climate characteristics of Czechoslovaki Soil structure, screened 14 high-quality rice varieties with disease resistance, lodging resistance, acidic soil adaptation, drought adaptation and other characteristics. Since then, we have continued to increase the breeding work, and successfully selected 12 new varieties including CG11 and CY2, to a large extent to meet the local people's demand for rice yield and quality, won the relevant institutions and farmers in Cvory Coast. In the exploration and promotion of rice cultivation techniques, the project team promoted the technology of Rice Mechanized Direct Seeding and rice seedling throwing according to local conditions, which effectively improved production efficiency and greatly reduced the cost of rice planting; in the mechanized production and processing of rice, the project completed the application of tractors, transplanters, combine harvesters, poplar shearers and other machinery from experiment to large-scale production. In the reclamation area, a relatively complete rice mechanized production and processing system has been formed, such as cultivated land, transplanting seedlings, harvesting, rice seed screening and rice processing, which makes the Gegdu reclamation area the only reclamation area in Czechoslovakia to carry out mechanized rice operation, and also the highest yield area for rice cultivation in Konguo. In the training of rice cultivation techniques, the project team effectively utilizes Gegdu in the breeding demonstration and agriculture of new varieties. In terms of machine advantages, a large number of rich and practical training activities have been organized in the local area, including high-yielding rice cultivation technology training, rice mechanical transplanting technology training, rice seedling throwing technology training, conventional rice seed production technology training, rice harvesting and processing storage technology training, tractor operation and maintenance training, combine harvester operation and maintenance training, rice mill operation and maintenance training. Over the past 30 years, more than 2000 government officials, technicians, managers and farmers have been trained in training, operation and maintenance of seed selection machines. This kind of "giving fishing" assistance mode promotes the local people to grasp the relevant technology independently and ensures the sustainable promotion of local agricultural development.

As an important agricultural cooperation platform between China and Kosovo, Gegdu bears the important task of revitalizing the rice development cause in Czechoslovakia. Aid Section project team continuously strengthens the promotion of new varieties and rice cultivation techniques to benefit more local farmers. By cooperating with Keguo Rice Bureau and ANADER (Agricultural Technology Development Agency, the largest agricultural extension agency in Czechoslovakia), excellent rice varieties and high-yielding rice cultivation techniques in Gegdu Reclamation Area have been widely promoted. At present, the two Chinese varieties CG11 and CY2 approved by Kosovo have been extended to all rice growing areas in Czechoslovakia, and the area of extension is increasing year by year, and they have become the main varieties in Czechoslovakia. CBI, the earliest black rice variety introduced by the project team, is the only black rice variety in the country. It has been popularized by Rice Bureau and ANADER in the whole country, and has also been widely welcomed by the market. In addition, at the request of the Ivorian Bureau of Rice, the project team provides 2 tons of two new varieties of original varieties per season for the Bureau of Rice in Cote d'Ivoire to breed 50 hectares of good seed fields and produce 200 tons of good seeds, which can meet the needs of 5,000 hectares of paddy fields in Cote d'Ivoire, while ANADER also produces 4,000 hectares of paddy fields per year in Gegedu Reclamation Area through cooperation with the project portfolio. After continuous promotion by the Bureau of Rice Science and the two official agencies of ANADER, the planting area of Chinese rice varieties CG11 and CY2 exceeds 15% of the total rice planting area in Cvory Coast. At the same time, through the promotion of non-governmental organizations (agricultural associations, cooperatives, distributors, etc.), the proportion of Chinese varieties is more than 80% in Divo Province and surrounding areas where the project team is located.

Long-term support for science, agriculture and technology has prompted the development of local economy. During the ninth phase of technical cooperation, Gegdu Reclamation Area revitalized three original rice processing factories, mainly operating CY2, CG11 and black rice CB1, and added a large rice processing plant with more than 20 employees, 30 tons a week.
